Putting this anthology together was a very pleasant task. The only real obstacle was getting literary works that
do not yet belong to the public domain, as publishing these in the web would violate copyright laws. Internet has opened
wide the world of literature to readers, making accessible such works that may not be available in print or may be too expensive.
Literature in audio format is also available now, "Jewish Stories" for example, and the URL is provided in the
table below.
As much possible, the work most representative of an author was chosen for this anthology, athough most of the selections
are admittedly personal favorites. No particular sequence was observed except in terms of putting close together
those stories with similar themes or plot. John Galsworthy's short story, "Quality" comes first in the list because
the theme aptly describes the passion and single-minded devotion of great literary writers for their craft.
Short story selections are found in the navigation bar at the left while URLs for novels, poetry, plays and non-fiction
are in the table below. The links to the right of this page "too long" to be a short story but "too short"
to be a novel, so they were edited in html for your convenience.
More selections will be added, so check from time to time to see what's new.
